Yall! When I came across Brittney’s blog, The Baxey Diaries, I just had to ask her if I could feature her daughter’s sweet first birthday party! I am so glad she said yes. The Wild One first birthday party theme is so cute and unique. I hope you love it as much as I do! I love every element of this party, but the cake….well, it takes the cake! I don’t blame everyone for gushing over it. It is an awesome creation!
Who: Brittney from Davison, MI
What: Wild One First Birthday Party for Kennedy!
Is there a particular reason you chose this theme?
Kennedy was turning one and I thought it would be a fun play on words. Plus, Kennedy is a little wild. I thought it fit her personality well.
Where did you purchase items for the party?
I actually made a lot of items that were at the party. I did get the Teepee from the Etsy shop, Sugar Shacks Teepee. Her flower crown came from Blossoms Chic Boutique.
Did you have any challenges when choosing elements of your party?
One of the challenges I faced was finding colors that fit the theme I wanted. Kennedy’s birthday is in November, so I wanted to incorporate fall colors. When I was searching Pinterest and Etsy for ideas I could only find pink and turquoise color palettes. I had to custom order a few things. This is also the main reason I did a lot of DIY decorations.
After the party was all set up and ready, what was your favorite element?
My favorite element was the cake table. My mom and sister made the cake. I thought it was absolutely adorable!
We all want to impress our guests! So, what about the party did your guests compliment the most?
They complimented the cake table set up the most.
Since it is really all about the birthday girl, what did she love about her party?
I think she loved EVERYTHING! She had such a good time mingling with all of our family and friends. Oh, and playing will the balloons.
Now that the party is over, is there anything you wish you had done differently?
I wish that I wouldn’t have procrastinated as much. It took me a while to make up my mind on a theme. Then, I waited until the week of to make most of the decorations. That was a little stressful.
I love that Brittney chose her own color scheme when the trendy one didn’t fit her vision.
