This is sort of a different post for me! Generally, I like to come up with my own ideas for you, but I also feel strongly about supporting other people, as well! It is part of my “celebrate community” philosophy to give a shout out when I see awesomeness shining through. So, now that your kiddos are out of school, you might be wondering “What the heck am I supposed to do with them?” Ha! My kids have 14 (!!!) weeks of summer this year, so I am definitely asking that question! Here are some ideas:
Summer Activities for Kids
If you’re looking for activities that won’t break the bank, check these out from Hip2Save.
Schedule your Summer Activities
I am a naturally organized person, so of course, I set a schedule for the summer. It helps us accomplish everything we want to do and stops the kids from asking “What are we doing today?!” Our schedule is a bit different than this example, but I like the themed days she came up with!
DIY Moon Sand
My kids LOVE anything that makes a mess. Moon sand is the best of both worlds. It seems messy to kids, but cleans up easily to make parents happy! Lessons Leart Journal has an easy recipe to make your own moon sand.
My kids LOVE science! It makes my nerdy heart so happy! Bonus tip: Have older kids write a paragraph on what they learned during the activity.
A Cool Activity for a Hot Day
Not only will this activity help your kids to cool off, but it will keep them busy for awhile, too!
I will be implementing some of these activities into our summer schedule. What activities are you planning for the summer?
