Holiday Appetizers to WOW your friends!

Holiday Appetizers to WOW your friends!

Every year, when invited to holiday parties, I try and think of a dish that will impress. I never want to take the same holiday appetizers, but I want to make something festive with familiar flavors that I know the party guests will enjoy. Marlee, the chef behind I Just Make Sandwiches, formulated some totally ahhh-mazing holiday appetizers that I know everyone will love! (After you read about all the deliciousness, click the link at the bottom of the post to get the recipes!)

Pomegranate-Glazed Meatballs

When I made these appetizers for my Christmas Cookie Exchange Party, my guests gobbled up these meatballs! The meat is seasoned so well, but the glaze…omg the glaze…the meatballs are cooked in the glaze, as well as drizzled again afterward for added depth of flavor. The spices in the glaze provide a hint of Christmas Cheer! Just make these. You won’t regret it!

Stuffed Sweet Peppers

As I was stuffing each little pepper, they reminded me of the big, old-fashioned outdoor Christmas lights! So festive! The filling is a unique combination of flavors sure to please a crowd! (If peppers aren’t your thang, then just mix up the filling and use as a cheeseball or dip for veggies or crackers.)

Stuffed Mushrooms

Anything stuffed with goat cheese is a winner in my book! These mushrooms provide a savory bite of deliciousness to your holiday party.

PARTY TIP: Make any dish look fancier by garnishing with an ingredient in the dish or one that complements the dish. The chiffonade of basil pops against the muted colors of the mushrooms, for example. Also, see the pomegranate seeds sprinkled on the meatballs above.

Baked Brie with Cherry & Fig Jam

Do not be intimidated when I say that this jam is homemade. It is so super simple, I promise! (Plus, you will have excess jam for breakfast the next morning!) This entire dish is deceptively simple, actually. I served it with crackers, but apples or pears would also be great choices.
